Cunard’s flagship liner Queen Mary 2 will make history in Fremantle on Wednesday February 8 when it arrives for the start of its first-ever circumnavigation of Australia
Queen Mary 2 will visit eight Australian ports across five states and the Northern Territory during the circumnavigation, calling at Fremantle on February 8 and again on February 28.
The majestic liner will spend a total of 28 days sailing Australian waters, the longest it has been based in one country outside of its northern hemisphere home ports of Southampton and New York.
Launched in 2004 and refurbished in December 2011, Queen Mary 2 is the largest cruise ship to ever visit Australia.
Designed to reflect Cunard Line’s rich heritage and traditions, the 151,400-tonne Queen Mary 2 offers a range of exciting features, including the largest ballroom at sea and a planetarium.
Queen Mary 2 will take the Fremantle marine pilot on board at 5.30am and will berth in Fremantle around 6.30am before departing that afternoon at 5pm for Adelaide.
